The Land Registry is a collection of data that contains all the most important information about your house. Even if you are not the owner of the property, you can find all the information that you are interested in. This means that if, for example, you want to buy a property, you have the opportunity to check its entire history.
After registering the property in the Land Registry, your property rights are protected. It provides proof of property ownership and prevents possible fraud.
WHAT INFORMATION DOES THE LAND REGISTRY HAVE?
The Land Registry consists of several parts. In each of them, you will find different information, so you can easily find out the things that interest you.
- The title register – contains all the details of the property, such as: the title number, who owns it, what they paid for it, any rights of way, whether a mortgage on it has been discharged.
- The title plan – includes information on property boundaries.
- The title summary – the part in which there is information about whether the property is owned or leased.
